The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) IV – MIMAROPA advises the general public to be cautious of giving donations to individuals/group of people who solicit donations for the victims of typhoon Yolanda.

Please be advised that the Department provides solicitation permit to organizations who volunteer to seek donation in behalf of people victimized by Yolanda. This is to assure that all kinds of donations given are directed to the communities and individuals that were damaged by the typhoon.

A reported incident in Thailand about two Filipinos falsely soliciting donations for the victims of the said typhoon were arrested last December. It is recommended that the public take extra precaution to discern whether a solicitation is lawful or otherwise.

DSWD urges the public to report any suspicious incident of similar nature.
