MALATE, MANILA- The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Region-IV MiMaRoPa has been closely monitoring the areas that was hit by typhoon Glenda to deliver necessary assistance to identified families that suffer the beating.

A total of 100 food packs have already been distributed to the affected families of San Jose, Occidental Mindoro. As of this writing, 2,333 families were reportedly affected, 14 houses completely damaged and 2 individuals from Marinduque were pronounced dead. Out of the 52 evacuation centers activated across the region, only 8 remain occupied until officials announce safety of return to the evacuees’ respective houses.

The department assures that all needed support for the families affected are given. DSWD MiMaRoPa have a total of 3,076 stockpile stored in the affected provinces of Marinduque, Occidental and Oriental Mindoro, Romblon and Palawan to ensure timely distribution of relief packs. ###
