ERMITA, Manila-The Listahanan of the Department of Social Welfare and Development MiMaRoPa has conducted a technical writeshop last September 15-16, 2014 in Best Western Hotel in preparation for the search for 2014 Gawad Listahanan Award.

The two-day writeshop aims to provide technical assistance for the competing local government units (LGUs) in document preparation, case study presentation and packaging. This is to ensure that project entry’ submitted is aligned with the competition mechanics. Project entry is a local program funded and implemented by the LGU where Listahanan-identified poor are the recipients.

Gawad Listahanan is the first ever award given to partner LGUs who have forged Memorandum of Agreement on Data Sharing with the Department in recognition of the efforts in promoting objective beneficiary selection through the use of Listahanan database.

The event focused on presentation of the general mechanics of the competition and it selection processes. Evaluation Tool was also presented on which emphasized the score of each criterion.

Moreover, Regional Information Officer Dwight Macabuhay gave tips on technical writing emphasizing the importance of a clear and effective technical report.

“The activity was a refresher to us technical persons. [As always] We are passionate with what we do for the service of Filipino people,” said Abigail Ablaña from Palawan Provincial Government.

Present in the activity are 13 representatives from different LGUs and the Social Welfare and Development (SWAD) offices in Mindoro, Palawan and Romblon provinces. ###
