Malate, Manila— The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Region IV – MiMaRoPa has activated its Quick Response Team (QRT) in preparation for typhoon Ruby (international name Hagupit).

The region has a total of 31,496 prepositioned relief goods with a targeted 9,000 additional relief goods being repacked as of this writing. Concurrently, 3,236 relief packs are ready for hauling to the province of Oriental and Occidental Mindoro.

There are 231 families currently housed in 14 evacuation centers in Romblon and Occidental Mindoro as part of the pre-emptive evacuation. Typhoon Signal 1 is raised in the province of Marinduque , Occidental and Oriental Mindoro, while Signal 2 is raised in the province of Romblon.

The QRT is closely monitoring all provinces under the region and at arm’s length 24/7.
