Malate, Manila — With typhoon Ruby (Hagupit) closing its way in region IV-MiMaRoPa, the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Regional Office’s Quick Response Team (QRT) monitors all the provinces in the region 24/7.

As of this writing, there are 453 families housed in 29 evacuation centers in the provinces of Romblon and Occidental Mindoro as part of the pre-emptive evacuation.

From a total of 31,496 relief food packs prepared in the region, 4,488 are from the field office in Malate, Manila and to be delivered in the port of Batangas. The Department is in close coordination with different agencies for transport of the said food packs.

The QRT continuously gathers data to provide support in the affected areas. ###
