MALATE, Manila–  The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) MiMaRoPa is set to validate initial result of the Listahanan second round household assessment in October.

Validation is the third phase of the Listahanan project cycle that opens initial list of poor families for verification purposes. List of the said families will be posted in all barangay halls for community verification.

Listahanan is a data management system that identifies who and where the poor are nationwide for possible social protection programs intervention, which started in 2009.

DSWD and the local government units will lead the validation processes through the creation of Local Verification Committee or LVC. The said committee will accept and resolve grievances and validation of initial profile of families in coordination with the Department’s Area Coordinators and Supervisors.

“We call the public to participate on this validation activity and ensure that they are included in our database,” said Editha B. Ocampo, Deputy Project Manager.

Early this year, household assessment has started administered by 1,233 enumerators covering five provinces, 70 municipalities and two cities with 1,459 barangays in MiMaRoPa.

Families who are not yet listed by our field staff last month are still given the chance to be interviewed thru our ‘On Demand Application’. They only need to coordinate our assigned staff located at the Local Social Welfare and Development Office in their areas, Ocampo added.

Listahanan has assessed 556,834 households regionwide – 166,406 in Oriental Mindoro; 84,811 in Occidental Mindoro; 49,098 Marinduque; 57,324 in Romblon;  and 199,195 in Palawan.###
