MALATE, Manila- The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) MiMaRoPa calls for all photographers to join its first Listahanan at Work photo contest this October.

Photo contest aims to promote transparency on the process of identifying poor families regionwide. This would help raise public awareness and persuade community participation as Listahanan validation of initial results continues in MiMaRoPa.

“Entry photo must depict the theme of the contest, Listahanan at work: identifying families in need of social protection”, said Ernie H. Jarabejo, Listahanan Field Coordinator.

All photography enthusiasts are qualified to join the contest by submitting to the DSWD Field Office the scanned email copy of the accomplished application form and at least three (3) sample photos taken in digital format. Application form can be downloaded in the DSWD Mimaropa website: https://fo4b.dswd.gov.ph/.

Entries should not include watermarks, signatures, names, or any markings on the photo, Jarabejo added.

Digital manipulation is not allowed. Enhancements must be limited to basic post-processing such as adjustments of contrast, minimal color-balancing, sharpening, cropping and dodging and burning.

Winners will receive cash prizes in the amount of P10, 000.00 for the grand prize; P7, 000.00 for the first runner-up; and P5, 000.00 for the second runner-up.

Acceptance of application form and the sample photos will end on November 6, 2015.

Listahanan is a government mechanism of identifying who and where the poor are nationwide. ### (Jason Eco Oliverio)
