Malate, Manila – As of 9:00 PM, December 28, a total of 42, 750 Galvanized Iron (G.I) Sheets have been delivered to (2,750 G.I. sheets) Oriental Mindoro and (40,000 G.I sheets) Romblon while 20,000 pieces of Malong are scheduled to be released to Pinamalayan and Naujan Oriental Mindoro by DSWD IV-MiMaRoPa in coordination with Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) and Local Government Units (LGUs) of the said provinces.

The onslaught of Typhoon Nona left the region of MiMaRoPa with 120,998 affected families or 557,062 persons in 51 municipalities and more than 92,022 damaged housing units (61,508 partially damaged and 30,514 totally damaged).

Number of casualties now at 15 dead, 326 injured and 2 missing.

There is still on-going distribution of food packs in several parts of Oriental Mindoro and in Romblon, Romblon.

As of this writing, a total of 18,374 food packs were served in the provinces of Mindoro, Romblon and Marinduque amounting to Php11,935,289.86 cost assistance from the Department.

Quick Response Team of DSWD IV-MiMaRoPa is still in the process of validating or identifying the affected areas and the number of affected families in Abra de Ilog, Occidental Mindoro as some of their barangays are reported to be washed-out###
