Malate Manila- As of 3:00 PM today, three (3) evacuation centers (ECs) have been closed in Naujan bringing the number down from 38 (yesterday, December 29) to 35. A total of 260 families (1,107 individuals) are still in the evacuation centers in the municipalities of Victoria (16 ECs), Naujan (8 ECs), Pinamalayan (5 ECs), Baco (2 ECs), Calapan (2 ECs), San Teodoro (1 EC), and Socorro (1 EC) in Oriental Mindoro.

On the other hand, the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Corcuera in Romblon will pick-up 2,750 GI sheets and tool kits (308 boxes of common nails, 357 boxes of umbrella nails, 61 boxes of hand saw and 81 boxes of claw hammer) today in Calatrava. In addition, the families in Baco, Oriental Mindoro with totally damaged houses have received 851 tool kits to help rebuild their homes.

Three (3) trucks, each carrying 1,660 family food packs, are on its way to Calapan Oriental Mindoro to add to the 10,000 family food packs being purchased by the SWADT of Calapan. More so, a total of 1, 256 family food packs are picked-up by the LGU of Corcuera from Calatrava, Romblon.

A total of  26, 038, 742 php cost of assistance has been provided to the affected families of Typhoon Nona in MiMaRoPa as of today. The Department has given 15, 126, 658 php worth of hygiene kits, family food packs and other non-food items while the LGUs and NGOs have also provided food packs and non-food assistance costing 10, 364, 804 php and 547, 280 php respectively.###
