MALATE, Manila-  (Update as of 11/20/15, 9:00 AM) The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) MiMaRoPa through its Municipal Action Team (MAT) continue to conduct assessment of more than 53,000 totally and partially damaged housing units in the municipalities that were hit by Typhoon Nona.

There are 23,750 houses reported as totally damaged while 29,884 houses are partially damaged regionwide.

The ongoing validation of affected areas in Oriental, Occidental Mindoro, Marinduque and Romblon provinces is spearheaded by the DSWD field staff in coordination with the local government units.

As of this writing, Typhoon Nona kills 15 persons, 358 injured and 1 missing.

A total of Php8,925,693.58 food assistance coming from the national and local governments and Non- Government Organizations, are packed/delivered and subject for distribution to affected families.

On the other hand, DSWD calls public to volunteer for the repacking of family food packs for the quick delivery and distribution of goods  to affected families in the region.
