Partner-beneficiaries in Bongabong Oriental Mindoro join a photo op after the short graduation ceremony.

BONGABONG, OrMin- Around 47 partner-beneficiaries in this town completed the Scaffold Erection provided by the  Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) in partnership with the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) MIMAROPA Sustainable Livelihood Program (SLP).

Scaffold Erection is a TESDA short course that trains in erecting and dismantling and safely handling scaffolding tools and equipment with national certificate II.

From the said number of  graduates, 30 are Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program recipients from barangays Anilao, Dayhagan, Camantigui, and Cawayan.

The skills training covered 21 days which started on February 6 and completed last March 6, 2017.

Moreover, the department has provided a total of Php277, 800.00 for the beneficiaries’ training manuals and assessment fee and starter kits such as hard hats, safety shoes and gloves.

 “After the training, they will be provided employment in Metro Manila in partnership with Probaton Oil and Gas Training Center, a private technical–vocational institution that caters high standard quality skills training for construction sector based in Roxas, Oriental Mindoro,” said Florife Dimaala, SLP provincial coordinator.

SLP is a community-based capacity-building program that seeks to improve the socio-economic status of its participants, is implemented using the Community-Driven Enterprise Development approach which enables participants to contribute to production and labor markets by looking at available resources and accessible markets.###
