MALATE MANILA- The Regional Program Management Office (RPMO) staff of Kalahi CIDSS MIMAROPA were re-oriented on the Grievance Redress System (GRS) of Kalahi CIDSS last March 14, 2017 at the conference hall of DSWD MIMAROPA Field Office.

The said workshop was attended by thirty-four (34) RPMO staff coming from the different program units. The aim of the activity was to promote social accountability among the program staff and the program stakeholders as well as to better understand the process of GRS. More so, Mr. Jay Aribbay, the Project Development Officer V for Island cluster Luzon and the Assistant Regional Director for Operations Floreceli Gunio also attended the said workshop.

Miss Akita Joy Macabare, Monitoring and Evalaution Officer III and the Grievance Focal Person of Kalahi CIDSS MIMAROPA served as the resource speaker for the activity. She discussed the types and categories of grievances that should be noted by the staff, the difference of a grievance and a PINCO (meaning of PINCO), and the proper intake and resolution of grievances.

Miss Macabare’s insightful and gregarious deliberation of the topic engaged the participants in the discussion and  had them ask questions on their roles and responsibilities in the GRS. As she finished the discussion, she asked the participants to write down the common grievances that they hear on their unit and to the other Kalahi CIDSS program units.

The GRS discussion was followed by a short refresher on the minutes report taking. Mr. John Jefferson Maigting, the Monitoring and Evaluation III for Database management delivered the discussion. He discussed the basic principles of minutes taking and what comprises a well-written minutes report.

After the discussions, the participants had a short workshop on grievance deliberation and minutes taking. They were divided into their respective units and were asked to select a grievance from the ones they wrote earlier.

The workshop ended with closing remarks of Deputy Regional Program Manager Maria Liza Peraren. Miss Peraren thanked everyone who attended the workshop and she congratulated the Monitoring and Evaluation Unit for the successful conduct of the Workshop.
