Last September 11, 2017, the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) awarded the DOLE Integrated Livelihood and Emergency Employment Programs (DILEEP) grant amounting to PHP 486,795.00 to the Hinadharan Sustainable Livelihood Program Association (SLPA).

The Hinadharan Pantawid Sustainable Livelihood Program Association was formed and organized last March 15, 2016. The association is composed of 14 Pantawid beneficiaries who are tenant-laborers/farmers from Brgy. Hinadharan, Mogpog, Marinduque.

These farmers work whole day under the heat of the sun, yet the wage they get can barely support the basic needs of their families. During the conduct of Participatory Livelihood Issue Analysis (PLIA), the members came up to an idea to establish a bakery as a means of income generation. Two Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) beneficiaries have worked as master bakers, giving the proposal an edge for great market opportunity.

Barangays Hinadharan, Sayao, Mendez, and Pili are the projected primary consumers of the livelihood project while Brgy. Sta. Cruz is the secondary target market. The bakery will house affordable and tasty pandesal, monay, ensaymada, buns, and many more items.

The proposed livelihood project was approved for Seed Capital Fund (SCF) amounting to PHP 140,000.00 and was awarded last June 17, 2016. To be able to materialize the project, the Municipal Action Team of Mogpog tapped the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) for additional funding.

The association started the implementation by procuring all the needed materials and equipment. The elected SLPA officers will lead the management of the bakery. Aside from DOLE’s assessment on financial and labor component of the project, SLP will also continue to monitor the beneficiaries to assure the success of the project.

Other government agencies such as Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) will assist in market linkage while Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) will provide bread and pastry production training.

The SLPA envisions that the project would create a sustainable livelihood for its members to alleviate malnutrition and poverty among families.
