MALATE, Manila City —- In celebration of Women’s Month. the DSWD MIMAROPA Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) participates in the advocacy campaign #BreakTheBias launched by the International Women’s Day (IWD) Organization.

The IWD is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women. The day also marks a call to action for accelerating gender parity. Significant activity is witnessed worldwide as groups come together to celebrate women’s achievements or rally for women’s equality. (source: https://www.internationalwomensday.com/About)

In participation in the said advocacy campaign, the DSWD MIMAROPA 4Ps launched the #BreakTheBias social media frame uploaded and used by the program staff on their social media account along with the pledge in breaking the bias.

Meanwhile, the program also participates in the national celebration of Women’s Month led by the Philippine Commission on Women (PC) with the theme “WE Make CHANGE Work for Women“. It will be a celebration of women exercising their choices, taking chances to make their voices heard, and benefitting from and trailblazing changes. It is a celebration of Filipino women’s power to take the narrative, raise priority issues that matter to them, and call for concrete actions. The 4Ps is the national anti-poverty program of the government which aims to break the intergenerational cycle of poverty among Filipino households. While improving the health of the household members, the program also wants to ensure that monitored children finish Senior High School. Moreover, through the different program interventions, the beneficiaries are guided and encouraged to participate in different social issues such as gender and development. ###
