The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office MIMAROPA participates today, November 10, at the fourth quarter Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill (NSED) held in its Regional Office in Malate, Manila.

Led by the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC), the Q4 NSED aims to highlight the earthquake preparedness efforts for and by the basic sectors in pursuit of building more resilient communities.

DSWD Assistant Regional Director for Administration Benchie B. Gonzales leads the Online Ceremonial Pressing of the Button at the Agency Operations Center.

All personnel, guided by the floor wardens and room wardens, actively participate in all phases of the earthquake drill while maintaining physical distance and wearing of face masks. The drill consists of a one-minute siren to indicate shaking while the participants are in a duck-cover-hold position under the tables. After the drill, all staff returned to their respective workstations.

This quarter’s earthquake drill adopts the official hashtags #BidaAngHanda #NSED2022 and #ResiliencePH  to boost information, education, and communication campaign.  Photos and videos of participation are posted on the department’s website and social media accounts.
