MALATE, MANILA — In 2024, the Kapit-Bisig Laban sa Kahirapan-Comprehensive and Integrated Delivery of Social Services (KALAHI-CIDSS) program, a flagship initiative of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) completed 316 community sub-projects (SPs), benefitting 159,043 households, including 35,346 Pantawid Pamilya families,29,284 Indigenous households, and 279,535 women who participated in program implementation in the MIMAROPA region. 

The initiative mobilized Php 245,055,799.34 in total grants and an additional ₱82,331,483.50 in local counterpart contributions, funding critical infrastructure projects, such as roads, bridges, water systems, community centers, multi-purpose buildings, health facilities, day care centers, and other related projects significantly improving the quality of life for countless Filipinos.

Through its key initiatives the National Community-Driven Development Program – Additional Financing (NCDDP-AF), Kapangyarihan at Kaunlaran sa Barangay-Cash For Work (KKB-CFW) , Kapangyarihan at Kaunlaran sa Barangay– Community-Driven Development (KKB-CDD), and the Philippine Multisectoral Nutrition Project (PMNP), the organization has successfully implemented transformative projects in the region. 

The accomplishment of these sub-projects was made possible through the strong cooperation of KALAHI-CIDSS Regional Program Management Office (RPMO), Area Coordinating Teams (ACTs) with Municipal Coordinating Teams (MCTs), community volunteers, Barangay and Municipal LGUs, national line agencies, and local communities. 

This milestone underscores the KALAHI-CIDSS’ dedication by setting a benchmark for inclusive, community-driven development and uplifting marginalized communities has successfully achieved 14 out of 14 Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) in 2024. 

As we wrap up the KALAHI-CIDSS program, we carry forward the spirit of unity, resilience, and progress. To sum up, the KALAHI-CIDSS program stands as a testament to the transformative power of community-driven development, leaving a legacy of empowered and resilient communities across MIMAROPA.

As DSWD transitions to the “Pagkilos” phase and pushes for the institutionalization of the CDD approach, the program’s achievements continue to inspire hope and progress.
