In the quiet coastal barangay of Dawis in Gasan, Marinduque, the sound of the waves often reminds residents of both struggle and survival. For Camille Mogol Cadag, a solo parent and parent leader under the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps), those waves became a metaphor for her life — sometimes calm, sometimes stormy, yet always moving forward.

This October 2025, Camille sailed through one of her life’s biggest challenges when she passed the Fisheries Licensure Examination, a milestone that proved not only her hard work but also the power of perseverance and purpose.

“Hindi madali, pero alam kong may rason kung bakit ko ito kailangang ipaglaban,” Camille shared, eyes gleaming with both relief and pride. “Para ito sa mga anak ko, para sa kinabukasan namin.”

For Camille, who juggled her duties as a solo parent and a 4Ps parent leader, every day was an act of balancing hope and responsibility. There were nights when she studied under dim light after tucking her children to bed, mornings when she attended community meetings, and days when she questioned if her dreams were still within reach.

But determination became her compass. And with the support of 4Ps, which helped sustain her children’s education and daily needs, she found not only financial assistance, but a network that strengthened her resolve.

“Malaking tulong ang 4Ps, hindi lang sa pinansyal na aspeto kundi sa moral na suporta. Natutunan ko ring maniwala ulit sa sarili ko,” she said.

Passing the Fisheries Licensure Exam was more than a personal victory; it was a ripple of inspiration that reached other beneficiaries in her community. Her story mirrors the essence of 4Ps — empowering families to break the cycle of poverty through education, hard work, and hope.

Now, Camille dreams of using her license not just as a ticket to a better livelihood, but as a platform to advocate for sustainable fishing and community development in Marinduque.

“Gusto kong ipakita na kayang abutin ng isang 4Ps parent ang mga pangarap, basta’t may tiyaga at pananampalataya,” she said with a smile.

From the humble shores of Gasan to the waves of success she now rides, Camille Cadag’s journey is proof that even the smallest ripples of hope can grow into waves of change.
