The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) recognized exemplary innovations and contributions to peacebuilding and community development during the 2nd DSWD Kalinaw Awards on November 13, 2025 in Puerto Princesa City, Palawan.

The event honored individuals, field offices, and program teams that significantly advanced peace, social cohesion, and inclusive growth across the Philippines. Among this year’s most notable achiever is the DSWD Field Office MIMAROPA, which emerged victorious with three major awards, reflecting the region’s unwavering commitment to excellence in the implementation of the Payapa at Masaganang Pamayanan (PAMANA) Peace and Development Program.

Despite the challenges, long hours, and intensive fieldwork, the dedication of the MIMAROPA PAMANA team led to the following recognitions: Best Innovation Award, Best Feature Film and Best Technical Staff for PAMANA Peace and Development Program — Mr. Albert Delgado. These accomplishments highlight the team’s creativity, technical proficiency, and strong collaboration in promoting peace and development in geographically isolated and disadvantaged areas.

                                                                            

DSWD MIMAROPA Officer in Charge Benchie B. Gonzales expressed appreciation for the team’s hard work, guidance, and perseverance in carrying out the program’s objectives and acknowledged the invaluable contributions of the Area Coordinating Teams (ACT) and Project Development Officers (PDOs) whose dedication, suggestions, and hands-on commitment strengthened program implementation. The team likewise extended its gratitude to former DSWD MIMAROPA Regional Director Leonardo C. Reynoso for his support and leadership, “After months of hardship and sleepless nights, these awards reflect our collective passion and determination to serve conflict-affected communities.

                 

 

With combined efforts, we can truly overcome anything,” the PAMANA team shared. The DSWD Kalinaw Awards serves as a testament to the agency’s pursuit of inclusive peace and sustainable development. By recognizing outstanding initiatives, the DSWD reinforces its commitment to fostering innovation and excellence among its workforce and partners, ensuring that communities long affected by conflict receive the support and opportunities they deserve.
