To ensure that beneficiaries under the Tara, Basa! Tutoring Program (TBTP) receive proper support and intervention, DSWD MIMAROPA conducts intake and home visits in three areas of Romblon – Odiongan, San Andres, and Ferrol – from October 20 to 24, 2025.

The activity is a component of the TBTP to ensure adequate referral of beneficiaries with learning disability manifestations to proper government or appropriate partner agencies who can support and aid with their special needs.

During the home visits, several learners were referred to the Special Needs Education (SNED) program for learning interventions, allowing them to receive specialized sessions with their teachers and some learners identified to require medical attention will be endorsed to relevant agencies for proper evaluation and aid.

In coordination with schools and health offices, the activity also identified the need for parent orientations on recognizing learning disabilities and available support services to enhance early intervention and monitoring efforts.

Through these, DSWD MIMAROPA continues to uphold its commitment to provide holistic support and ensure that beneficiaries, especially those with special needs, receive the care and assistance they deserve.
