MIMAROPA Region – The Department of Social Welfare and Development’s (DSWD) Kapit-Bisig Laban sa Kahirapan–Comprehensive and Integrated Delivery of Social Services (KALAHI-CIDSS) held its first IMPACT Recognition event, honoring outstanding initiatives and good practices from its Engineering and Procurement Units across the country.
The IMPACT Awards, which stands for Initiatives that Make Progress, Advocacy, and Community Transformation, celebrated innovative projects and approaches in seven categories: Health, Wellness & Resilience; Community Empowerment & Engagement; Education & Capacity Building; Environmental Stewardship & Sustainability; Good Governance & Transparency; Progress in Innovation & Development; and Social Transformation & Inclusion.
Among the 35 total entries submitted nationwide, DSWD Field Office MIMAROPA emerged as the most active participant, contributing 15 entries, highlighting the region’s dedication to excellence and innovation in service delivery.
Regional Director Leonardo C. Reynoso expressed pride in the remarkable performance of MIMAROPA’s KALAHI-CIDSS teams, emphasizing their commitment to improving lives through community-driven initiatives.
> β€œThis recognition is a testament to the passion and dedication of our field workers who go beyond their roles to create meaningful change in our communities. It shows that our mission is not just about building infrastructure but also about nurturing empowered, resilient, and inclusive communities,” said RD Reynoso.
The awarding ceremony took place during the Orientation/Workshop on the New Government Procurement Reform Act and Engineering Innovations for Resilient Communities, held from September 8-13, 2025, and hosted by DSWD Field Office X.
More than a recognition program, IMPACT serves as a platform to showcase how engineering and procurement teams can champion wellness, environmental protection, transparency, and innovationβ€”demonstrating that small, meaningful initiatives can make a big difference in the lives of both DSWD staff and the communities they serve.
Through programs like IMPACT, DSWD continues to foster a culture of excellence and service that aligns with its mission to uplift the most vulnerable sectors of society.
