EL NIDO, Palawan — In recognition of its continued presence and support beyond immediate relief, the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office MIMAROPA was honored during the 110th Founding Anniversary of the Local Government Unit of El Nido on March 16, 2026, at El Nido Central School.

The recognition underscores the agency’s sustained efforts in assisting communities affected by Typhoon “Tino,” particularly in helping families move from relief to recovery.

Following the disaster, DSWD MIMAROPA worked closely with the Local Government Unit of El Nido to deliver essential assistance and support community rehabilitation initiatives.

Beyond the provision of aid, the Field Office actively engaged in recovery planning and coordination to ensure that interventions remain responsive to the evolving needs of affected households, especially the most vulnerable.

DSWD MIMAROPA Regional Director Benchie B. Gonzales emphasized the importance of strong partnerships in disaster response, noting that recovery is a shared responsibility among government, communities, and stakeholders.

The recognition reflects not only the agency’s immediate response efforts but also its long-term commitment to building safer, more resilient communities.

Through strengthened collaboration and continuous support, DSWD MIMAROPA remains steadfast in empowering communities to recover, rebuild, and thrive after disasters.
