MIMAROPA — The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office MIMAROPA celebrated the 15th anniversary of the Sustainable Livelihood Program (SLP) by recognizing the resilience of its beneficiaries, the dedication of its implementers, and the continued efforts to create sustainable livelihood opportunities for families and communities across the region.

As part of the milestone celebration, DSWD MIMAROPA simultaneously conducted the SLP Bazaar in various provinces of MIMAROPA and at the DSWD Field Office MIMAROPA in Malate, Manila. The activity showcased the creativity, skills, and entrepreneurial journey of Sustainable Livelihood Program Associations (SLPAs) through their diverse products and services.

The bazaar served as a platform for SLPAs to promote their products, connect with consumers, expand their market reach, and increase their income opportunities. Complementing the physical activity was the Live Selling Activity through the official Facebook page of DSWD MIMAROPA, which provided an additional avenue for beneficiaries to feature their products and reach a wider audience through digital platforms.

The celebration highlighted the significant accomplishments of SLP in MIMAROPA, particularly its commitment to reaching families in geographically isolated and disadvantaged areas. From Calendar Year 2011 to 2026, SLP MIMAROPA has implemented a total of 95,922 physical projects with a total investment of ₱1,858,720,689.35, representing thousands of families empowered and communities given opportunities to improve their quality of life.

DSWD MIMAROPA Regional Director Benchie B. Gonzales emphasized that the success of the program is reflected not only in the number of livelihood projects implemented but in the lives transformed through collective efforts and partnerships.

“The 15 years of the Sustainable Livelihood Program in MIMAROPA is a testament to what we can achieve when service is driven by compassion and commitment. Through platforms such as the SLP Bazaar and online selling activities, we provide our beneficiaries greater opportunities to showcase their products, expand their markets, and continue building sustainable livelihoods for their families,” Director Gonzales said.

The anniversary celebration also recognized the dedication of the SLP workforce, known as the “Angels in Red Vest,” whose commitment and service have helped bring livelihood assistance and opportunities to communities across the region, including those in remote and hard-to-reach areas.

As SLP continues its journey beyond 15 years, DSWD Field Office MIMAROPA remains committed to empowering more families, strengthening partnerships, and creating inclusive and sustainable opportunities that contribute to the growth and resilience of MIMAROPA communities.
