Malate, Manila- In preparation for the Habagat Special Validation, the Department of Social Welfare and Development thru the National Household Targeting Unit held a one-day orientation for 41 encoders last January 28, 2013.

Regional Director Wilma D. Naviamos said, “Encoders should work with passion for an accurate and precise data entry and therefore the true beneficiaries of the project will be targeted.”

This activity aims to orient and engage the encoders on a hands-on familiarization for encoders on the system user interface, name matching and data entry procedures and also to discuss the Standard Operating Procedures in handling and archiving the Household Assessment Form (HAF) and Household Need Assessment Form (HNAF).

Mr. Crisostomo Valenzona III, Project Development Officer from National Project Management Office, discussed the rationale and objectives of the Habagat validation while Mr. Kim Howell Honor, National Information Technology Officer administered the process of encoding of the above mentioned forms.

Habagat Validation is a special household assessment that aims to assess the condition of the households affected by the southwest monsoon last 2012.###
