Puerto Princesa City– The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office IV-MiMaRoPa thru the Sustainable Livelihood Program – Regional Program Management Office with the Regional Information Communication Technology Management Unit (RICTMU) conducted a training on the Sustainable Livelihood Program Information System (SLPIS) for Palawan Cluster last February 21-23, 2013 in Hotel Fleuris.

The activity aims to orient the field staff on the background of SLPIS so the users may enable to apply their knowledge and skills in the implementation of Sustainable Livelihood Program (SLP) using the system and to discuss and resolve issues and concerns on the implementation of the SLPIS.

SLPIS is an intranet-based Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) system of the DSWD’s Sustainable Livelihood Program that aims to respond to the need for a faster and more accurate monitoring and evaluation towards effective and efficient program management, policy formulation, program development and decision making. It specifically responds to the need for complete and reliable data and information on the implementation of the SLP.

SLP is a community-based capacity building program that seeks to improve the program participants’ socio-economic status. It is implemented through the Community Driven Enterprise Development (CDED) approach which equips them to contribute to production and labor markets by looking at available resources and accessible markets.

The activity was attended by 14 Project Development Officers (PDO). ###
