MALATE MANILA – In pursuit to strengthen the Employee Wellness Program of Department of Social Welfare and Development MIMAROPA, a Maxicare Mobile Clinic was set up in the Regional Field Office which provided accessible Annual Physical Examination (APE) for employees last Wednesday, August 30.

The said activity aims to promote healthier lifestyle among DSWD staff and to provide accessible medical care to them.

Maxicare Mobile Clinic saves time, money and effort of our DSWD staff in accessing the medical services they needed,” says Rose Jean Mayrena, HROfficer.

Medical Services provided include urinalysis, blood pressure test, blood chemistry test, pop smear, ECG, X-Ray, and general physical examination.

APE is promoted to employees in order to: 1) check for possible diseases so they can be treated early; 2) identify any issues that may become medical concerns in the future; 3) update necessary immunizations; and 4) ensure that staff are maintaining a healthy diet and exercise routine.

Mobile Medical Check-up was one of the initiatives of Human Resource Development Unit (HRDU) in partnership with the Social Welfare Employees Association of the Philippines (SWEAP) and Maxicare Healthcare Corporation.

This is in accordance to Memorandum Circular #13 Series of 2013 or Guidelines in Promoting Wellness in DSWD which states that the Department shall provide opportunities for employees to nurture relationships, avoid burn-out, de-stress and maintain their passion for work. ###
