MALATE, MANILA — 5,523 household beneficiaries in the MIMAROPA region are expected to exit and graduate from the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) this May to June and be endorsed to their Local Government Units (LGUs).

With the theme “Paglalakbay tungo sa Tagumpay: Sama-samang Pagsulong tungi sa Matatag na Kinabukasan”, Provincial Operations Offices (POOs) and Municipal Operations Offices (MOOs) will conduct simultaneous recognition ceremonies in different locations to recognize efforts of the beneficiaries in achieving self-sufficiency and acknowledge support given by LGUs and other partners throughout the program implementation.

In the recognition program, the exiting and graduating beneficiaries will also be formally endorsed to their LGUs for continued support and assistance.

Ngayong magtatapos na sila sa programa ay nais [kong] siguraduhin na ang lokal na pamahalaan [ng Puerto Galera] ay patuloy ang pagsuporta sa mga inendorsong benepisyaryo lalo na ngayong may pandemya at panimula na nga rito ang tulong-pangkabuhayan”, said Mayor Rocky Ilagan of Puerto Galera, Oriental Mindoro when DSWD endorsed to him the 61 exiting household beneficiaries from their municipality.

According to Vincent Dominic Obcena, Pantawid Pamilya Regional Program Coordinator, the role of the LGUs is important in the implementation of the program as they share a significant contribution in the process of improving the lives of the beneficiaries towards self-sufficiency and in breaking the intergenerational cycle of poverty.

Prior to the formal endorsement to the LGUs,  DSWD Pantawid POOs and MOOs have already conducted a series of case conferences to present to the LGUs and different partners from the National Government Agencies (NGAs), and Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) the current state of well-being of the exiting/graduating beneficiaries and agreed on what interventions should be implemented and provided.

“Maraming salamat po. Hindi niyo po kami pinapabayaan. Malaking tulong po ang patuloy na pagsuporta ng amin pamahalaan sa pangunguna ni Mayor [Rocky Ilagan] sa katulad po naming mga nangangailangan lalo na sa panahon ng pandemya”, stated by Salve Magbuhos, one of the 1,709 beneficiary households who were already endorsed to their LGU.

As of May 5, 1,709 beneficiary households were already endorsed to their respective LGUs for the continued provision of support and assistance according to their needs to ensure that they will no longer go back to the previous state of well-being.

Based on the Pantawid Pamilya Law (RA 1130), a beneficiary shall exit and graduate from the program once no more child is available for monitoring or state of well-being is already at level 3 or self-sufficient in terms of social and economic aspects.

Meanwhile, observation of minimum health protocol was ensured by DSWD and the LGUs while conducting the said activity and different online platforms were utilized to lessen physical interactions among the attendees. ###
