Calapan, Oriental Mindoro– The Department of Social Welfare and Development Field Office MIMAROPA piloted the very first face-to-face capacity building activity attended by 15 Project Development Officers (PDOs) of Sustainable Livelihood Program (SLP) since the declaration of pandemic, through the Mainstreaming Manual Forum since the declaration of community quarantine due to COVID-19 pandemic. The Mainstreaming Manual Forum started today in El Pueblo Rhizort, Calapan Mindoro.
Before the start of the activity, participants were instructed to strictly observe health and safety protocols such as social distancing, wearing of face masks, and frequent disinfection. This was followed by the presentations and activities led by Mr. Francisco R. Porlay, Training Officer, Ms. Alberto S. Orpiada, Regional Monitoring and Evaluation Officer, Ms. Rojena N. Arquio, Social Marketing Officer, and Mr. Ronaldo J. Meneses, PDO III and Coach Monitor of Oriental Mindoro.
The Mainstreaming Manual Forum is steered towards the detailed discussion of the SLP Mainstreaming Stage which serves as a measure of the efficiency of a program in achieving its expected result indicators through a specialized mainstreaming tool and processes designed for the final stage of the Sustainable Livelihood Program. This stage ensures that SLP Associations and their participants are continuously capacitated towards self-governance and that the operations of the established micro-enterprises and the acquired employment are sustained after the provision of SLP modalities.
PDOs actively participated in various activities relevant to SLP Implementation Stages, Social Marketing, and Government and Private Partnerships.
Meanwhile, resource speakers emphasized the importance of mainstreaming towards the sustainability of the beneficiaries’ projects through technical assistance and other interventions from the agency and its partners.
“ Isang magandang oportunidad ang activity na ito para magkaroon ng sapat na kaalaman ang mga PDOs sa pagbibigay gabay sa mga exiting beneficiaries ng SLP. Malaking tulong din ito sa pag-reiterate ng mga policies at guidelines matapos ang dalawang taong pagkakahinto ng mga proyekto sa ilalim ng MC 22 s. 2018 dahil sa pandemya. “ shared by Ms. Florefe Y. Dimaala, Provincial Coordinator of SLP Oriental Mindoro.
The Mainstreaming Manual Forum will be conducted next in Occidental Mindoro on November 19-20, 2021 and Marinduque on November 22-24, 2021. Meanwhile, the conduct of activity for the provinces of Palawan and Romblon is scheduled for the first half December 2021.
