PUERTO PRINCESA CITY, Palawan — The DSWD Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) conducted a Joint Review Mission Field Visit in Puerto Princesa City, Palawan on May 25 to 27, 2022.
Among the participants of the Joint Review Mission Field Visit were the representatives of the development partners from the World Bank, Asian Development Bank (ADB), Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT), and the United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund (UNICEF), and National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA).
The Joint Review Mission Field Visit aims to assess the implementation of the program on the field-level and gather feedback as well as recommendations of stakeholders from different sectors such as the Local Government Units (LGUs), academe, and the Civil Society Organizations (CSOs).
“Through this Joint Review Mission Field Visit, we look forward to learning more about how we can improve our strategies so we can deliver better services to our beneficiaries and provide them the assistance they deserve. Through your technical assistance and recommendations, we will be able to help more poor Filipino households in our region, especially those that are in GIDA communities”, said Sheila Tapia, Assistant Regional Director for Programs and Operations of the Field Office MIMAROPA.
On May 25 to 26, together with the Pantawid Pamilya staff from the regional, provincial, and municipal offices, the development partners have visited households with different levels of well-being, school and health facilities in four (4) barangays of Puerto Princesa City, namely: Barangay Napsan, Barangay Sta. Monica, Barangay Mandaragat, and Barangay Cabayugan.
Some Mission Team members also visited the Palawan Adventist Mission Office and several branches of the Landbank of the Philippines in the city.
During the last day of the activity, the development partners presented their initial observations and provided initial recommendations on how the field office may further improve the program roll-out within the region.
Meanwhile, the technical discussion where the observations from the activity will be discussed by the Mission Team before the end of June 2022. The technical discussion will also serve as a venue for the development partners to raise policy and technical recommendations to address identified program concerns.
The Joint Review Mission Field Visit conducted in Palawan is the 12th leg of the activity, conducted and hosted by the program every semester to periodically assess the implementation of the program.
The 4Ps is the poverty reduction strategy of the Philippine government implemented by the DSWD where it provides conditional cash grants to eligible poor Filipino households to improve the health, nutrition, and education of children aged 0-18. In MIMAROPA Region, there are 204,218 active 4Ps beneficiaries and 8,841 of them are from Puerto Princesa City, Palawan (as of April 2022). ###
