TORRIJOS, MARINDUQUE – The Antipolo Drive SLP Association, a micro-enterprise association organized and funded by the DSWD Field Office MIMAROPA through the Sustainable Livelihood Program, launched its Mini Ice Plant to boost sustainable livelihood opportunities in Brgy. Tigwi, Torrijos, Marinduque last January 31, 2025.

With a total of Php316,000.00 seed capital fund received last December 12, 2024, the Antipolo Drive SLPA, composed of 18 members, was able to build a concrete store and purchased an ice maker machine and chest freezer to establish their enterprise.

Further, the Association chose this livelihood venture due to high demand and huge economic potential, yet the area has limited ice cube suppliers.

As the project takes off, hopes are high that it will bring meaningful change to the community and strengthen the collaborative efforts between DSWD and the local government.

The ceremony was attended by the SLP Focal Person, local government officials, and association members.

SLPA members thanked the Department for providing an opportunity to acquire thriving livelihoods and capacity-building interventions to enhance their well-being.
