OCCIDENTAL MINDORO – In celebration of the municipality of Magsaysay’s 56th founding anniversary, gratitude filled the air as Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) beneficiaries received various social services on April 3, 2025, from the local government unit (LGU).
Among the primary beneficiaries were 104 4Ps families from Barangay Poblacion who availed themselves of a wide range of free services, including medical check-ups, vaccinations, and primary services from the Philippine Statistics Authority, PhilHealth, and senior citizen registration.
Beneficiary Maria Liza Domingo, a mother of three, expressed her relief after her child received much-needed medical care.
“Napakalaking tulong po ito sa aming pamilya. Minsan, hindi namin kayang ipatingin sa doktor ang aming anak dahil sa kakulangan ng pera. Pero ngayon, nabigyan siya ng libreng check-up at gamot.” she said.
Aside from health and medical services, the beneficiaries also had an opportunity to give back. Two beneficiaries voluntarily donated blood to the Red Cross, proving that even those with little can share what they have for the welfare of others.
Moreover, a total of 56 4Ps beneficiaries received eyeglasses, including seven individuals from Barangay Poblacion.
Jolenn Andrea D. Buenaventura, a monitored 4Ps student, was among them.
“Maraming salamat po sa natanggap kong salamin. Malaking tulong po ito sa aking pag-aaral dahil malabo na ang mata ko. Hindi na ako mahihirapan sa pagbabasa, at hindi na rin sumasakit ang ulo ko,” she shared.
With this initiative, the LGU of Magsaysay reaffirmed its commitment to uplifting marginalized sectors by providing much-needed support and services.
Recently, the municipality was recognized as Best LGU for 2024 under the Pantawid Pamilya Guild: Galing ng Serbisyo Award for demonstrating exemplary performance in promoting convergence to address the needs of the program beneficiaries and the community at the local level.###
