OCCIDENTAL MINDORO – Forty (40) Sustainable Livelihood Program (SLP) Associations of the DSWD Field Office MIMAROPA participated in a transformative one-day Business Expense Savings Training (BEST) held in the municipalities of Paluan, Sablayan, Calitaan, Rizal, San Jose, Looc, and Lubang from August 8 to October 4, 2024.

Organized by the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Negosyo Center, the comprehensive training sought to equip participants with essential skills for effectively managing their business expenses, ultimately enhancing their financial sustainability.

It emphasized practical strategies, such as budgeting techniques, cost-cutting measures, and resource optimization, and served as a stepping stone for future growth opportunities, encouraging participants to pursue additional educational resources and support.

The SLPAs, with community stores, rice retailing, goat raising, hog fattening, and fishing, engaged in interactive sessions to facilitate knowledge sharing and skill-building.

Through collaborative exercises and discussions, the training equipped the associations with tools to maximize their resources and fostered a sense of community and camaraderie among local entrepreneurs.

This collective learning experience encouraged participants to share insights and best practices, reinforcing that collaboration can lead to greater innovation and resilience within their businesses.

The ongoing initiative reflects a solid commitment to empowering local communities and fostering economic resilience across the region and by investing in the development of local entrepreneurs, the program aims to create a more vibrant economic environment where small businesses can thrive.
