MALATE, Manila- The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) MiMaRoPa announces yesterday that the new Listahanan database will be available to partner stakeholders starting  July after the regional launch.

Listahanan is a mechanism of identifying poor families nationwide who eventually become potential beneficiaries of government social protection programs such as PhilHealth, DSWD’s Social Pension, Sustainable Livelihood and Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program.

“Information such as statistics and magnitude of poor households can be obtained through official data requests. However, a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) is required if the information being requested includes the names of family or household member,” said Ernie H. Jarabejo, MiMaRoPa Field Coordinator.

Data sharing is part of the Listahanan cycle which help secure the confidentiality of the database. With this agreement, the Department will be able to monitor the utilization of shared data from the local and national government offices and other private institutions. “Organizations who have entered into this MOA are required to submit feedback report to check if the said  list of the poor was used for intended purposes,” Jarabejo added.

Moreover, the  said database offers magnitude of poor households from national to barangay level; demography; sectoral data such as women, children, youth, senior citizens, Indigenous People’s group and Person with Disability; health and sanitation; and access to basic needs and social services.

In Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon and Palawan (MiMaRoPa) provinces, the Listahanan second round households was able to assess 569,316 and 207,863 or 36.5 percent are identified poor. The regional profile of the poor households will be officially launched this month.###
