2002 – Former President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo signed Executive Order No. 103 on May 17 dividing Region IV into Region IV-A CALABARZON (composed of Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal and Quezon) and IV-B MIMAROPA (composed of Mindoro Oriental and Mindoro Occidental, Marinduque, Romblon and Palawan). The province of Aurora was also transferred to Region III.

2003 – DSWD Region IV-A and IV-B MIMAROPA operated with separate personnel under Regional Director Thelsa Biolena in the Region IV Field Office in Alabang, Muntinlupa City.

2004 – Director Suzette Agcaoili became the first regional director of DSWD FO MIMAROPA who shared the same field office with Region IV-A CALABARZON in Alabang, Muntinlupa.

2006 – On October 30, DSWD MIMAROPA Region transferred to Malate, Manila in a 3-storey building, which used to be the Department’s women training center and laboratory.

Due to the geographical location of the covered island provinces of MIMAROPA, the Department opened its Social Welfare and Development (SWAD) Offices located in each province.

2007 – Director Raquel Ascaño from DSWD Central Office was assigned to DSWD MIMAROPA as its Regional Director.

2008 – Due to Director Ascaño’s retirement in February 2008, Director Remia Tapispisan who was then assistant regional took over as OIC-Regional Director with ARD Annie E. Mendoza as OIC-Assistant Regional Director. By June 2008, OIC-Director Tapispisan was transferred to DSWD Field Office V and was replaced by OIC-Director Violeta A. Cruz from the Central Office.

2009 – DSWD FO MIMAROPA successfully hosted the Mid-Year National Management Development Conference for DSWD Executive and Management Committee officials and regional directors held in Puerto Princesa City on July 1-4.

DSWD FO MIMAROPA also opened its first MIMAROPA Youth Center in Bansud, Oriental Mindoro on July 24.

2010 – OIC-Director Violeta A. Cruz became a full-fledged Regional Director of DSWD FO MIMAROPA until 2013.

2013 – Regional Director Wilma D. Naviamos led the Field Office for six years or until 2019.

2014 – Supertyphoon Yolanda made its sixth and last landfall in Busuanga, Palawan on November 8 affecting 14 towns in the province. DSWD FO MIMAROPA, in cooperation with the local government unit of Busuanga and Coron, distributed cash assistance to the affected population.

2019 – Director Floreceli G. Gunio served as the OIC-Regional Director until 2020.

2020 – OIC-Assistant Regional Director for Operations Purificacion R. Arriola served as the OIC-Regional Director until January 2021. Her leadership was tested in dealing with the challenges brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic. She ensured the implementation of the Social Amelioration Program (SAP) in the region.

2021 –Director Fernando R. De Villa Jr. served as the regional director from February 2021 up to June 2022. 

On October 21, the new Disaster Response and Management Division Office and Operation Center was inaugurated.

On December 31, 2021, DSWD FO MIMAROPA became ISO 9001-2015 certified, especially for its two frontline services and all essential support services.

2022 –  As part of the celebration of the DSWD Anniversary, the groundbreaking ceremony for the one-storey building took place. The new Agency Operation Center was launched and the newly-renovated facilities in the Regional Office were blessed in April.

On May 17, DSWD FO MIMAROPA received another ISO 9001:2015 certification for its provision of social welfare and development services covering all DSWD Office’s frontline and non-frontline services for various areas.

On July 1, Director Leonardo C. Reynoso, CESO III was designated as the new Regional Director of DSWD FO MIMAROPA.
