Boac, Marinduque – To enhance the writing, photography and public speaking skills of Municipal Links, Provincial Links and Program Development Officers were the main objective in conducting Orientation of Speakers through the Social Marketing Unit of DSWD IV-MiMaRoPa held in Boac, Marinduque, December 10, 2013.

The activity was a full-day event participated by PLs, MLs and PDOs of Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program, Kalahi-CIDSS and Sustainable Livelihood Program. “Natutuwa kami sa line-up ng topics for workshop for today, kaya talagang umattend kami para madagdagan pa kaalaman namin sa pagsusulat at pagpipicture,”said SWAD team leader, Helen Alcoba.

The Orientation of Speakers was a lecture-cum-practical application type of workshop. Dwight Macabuhay, Regional Information Officer facilitated the discussion on Straight News and Feature Writing. “Medyo mahirap din pala magsulat, pero at least medyo maaayos na namin yung mga feedback na sinasubmit namin sa Field Office,”said Sonia de Leon of SWAD.

A basic Photography skill was also discussed by Anichie Itoh, Information Officer of Pantawid Pamilya and a workshop followed thereafter. The participants were given an hour to roam around the vicinity of the hotel and take pictures of subjects that catches their interest.

In the end, the activity was a success and most participants have one thing to say – they have learned something they thought they already knew.
