PUERTO PRINCESA CITY- The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) MiMaRoPa through the Sustainable Livelihood Program (SLP) led series of Enhancement Skills Training in Participatory Project Proposal Development for Project Development Officers (PDO) last July 8-11, 2014 in Sunlight Guest Hotel.

The four-day training addresses the specific needs of the PDOs in the participatory project proposal development within the context of SLP.

SLP is a community-based capacity building program seeking to improve the beneficiaries’ socio-economic status through the facilitation of employment and the development of micro-enterprise.

Professor Benilda B. Tayag from the University of the Philippines, College of Social Works and Community Development highlighted the basic consideration in developing project proposals.

“Sa pamamagitan ng mga ganitong training, mas lalong nahuhubog ang aming kakayahan bilang PDO sa pagpaplano ng mas makabuluhang proyektong pang-kabuhayan ng ating mga  benepisyaryo,” said Armando Arce, Taytay, Palawan SLP staff.

There were 52 PDOs from Palawan province who participated in the activity. Similar training was concluded last week of June 2014 with 36 participants coming from Mindoro, Marinduque and Romblon provinces.

The series of training is a continuous effort of the Department to capacitate the field-based staff in responding to the program needs and demands. ###
