Puerto Princesa City, Palawan – The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) IV-MiMaRoPa launches the official social network sites of the ‘Kaya Ko ang Pagbabago’ campaign to gather and share stories of positive change from the beneficiaries, workers, partners, and even the public, yesterday November 27 at Asturias Hotel.
The local media personalities from the province of Palawan attended the activity. The ‘Kaya Ko ang Pagbabago’ is an information and empowerment campaign that aims to communicate the change (pagbabago) the Department’s beneficiaries experience through its programs and services.
“What we usually hear about the program are criticisms of from people who really do not know much about how it works. With this campaign, we hope to bring out the benefits of the program, as manifested by these stories of pagbabago. We want to amplify the voices of our beneficiaries, our partners, and our workers,” said DSWD Secretary Corazon Juliano-Soliman.
Anecdotes, statements, blogs, videos and photos that reflect the positive changes brought about by the various programs and services in the lives of the beneficiaries and other stakeholders can be shared and found at the Facebook page fb.com/KayaKoPH and the Twitter account @KayaKoPH.
In her message, Regional Director Wilma D. Naviamos said, “Ang pamunuan ng DSWD MiMaRoPa ay patuloy na maghahatid ng tulong at suporta para sa ikabubuti ng lahat ng mga benepisyaryo. Sa pamamagitan ng mga proyekto at programa ng ating departamento, kayang-kaya natin ang pagbabago.”
Following the launching event, the Social Marketing Unit (SMU) of the region conducted the Media Orientation – to educate the attending media on programs implemented by DSWD. Selected beneficiaries presented the programs, including Pantawid Pamilya, Kapit Bisig Laban sa Kahirapan- Community Integrated Delivery of Social Service – National Community Driven Development Program (KALAHI-CIDSS-NCDDP), Sustainable Livelihood Program (SLP), Supplementary Feeding Program (SFP) and Social Pension (SocPen) among others.
Beneficiaries, parent leaders and scholars from the Students Grant-in-Aid Program for Poverty Alleviation Program also attended the event. ###
