MALATE, Manila– (Update of 11/20/15, 9:00 PM) There are still 88 evacuation centers managed by the Local Government Units remain open to date providing temporary shelter to 18,333 families or 236,297 individuals in Oriental Mindoro.

Seven centers in Calapan City, ten in Socorro, 12 in Baco, 29 in Pinamalayan, and 30 in Naujan.

As of December 20, around P9, 222,621.78 worth of food packs  have been provided to affected families in Oriental and Occidental Mindoro, Romblon and Marinduque provinces.

DSWD ensures the delivery of said food packs to the rightful recipients.

Meanwhile, validation of damaged houses in areas affected by Typhoon Nona are still ongoing.

The total number of damaged housing units increases from 53,000 to 75,8881 units; 31,321 totally damaged and 44,460 partially damaged houses. Pinamalayan and Naujan municipalities recorded the most destroyed housing units in the province.###
