MANILA City- In line with the Department’s goal to upgrade technical competencies of staff, the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) MIMAROPA has conducted Information and Communication Technology (ICT) capability training focusing on Microsoft applications.

Spearheaded by the ICT Management Unit in coordination with the  Institutional Development Unit, the  two-day training was participated by 22 regional office-based staff last August 22-23, 2016.

“For this year, we shall conduct Excel 102 and Access 101 focused on the use of Microsoft Excel 2013 and Microsoft Access 2013. Access 101 covers the basics of using Microsoft Access while Excel 102 deals on the advanced features of the application,” said Angelito Montalbo, DSWD ICT officer.

The said training is the continuation of November 2013 ICT training dubbed as Excel 101 which covered the basics of Microsoft Excel.

This not only provide a positive impact on their skills and knowledge but most of all it will bring a renewed sense of self-confidence among the staff in handling data and statistical reports, added Montalbo.

Furthermore, the department has scheduled the two-day basic Microsoft Access training on the last week of August as part of the continuous skill enhancement of staff.

“The new Excel techniques we learned in the training makes our  job easy and effective,” said staff John Percy Pol.###
