June this year, the ‘Listahanan 2015 Database’ was first launched in Puerto Princesa City, Palawan. However, DSWD realized the need to intensify its campaign to other provinces knowing the geographical setting of the region.

The Provincial Government of Romblon and Philippine Health Insurance Corporation both shared their experiences in using the ‘Listahanan Data’ in the identification of potential beneficiaries of Social Protection Programs for the poor.

“We considered Listahanan as an important reference in the implementation of H.E.A.R.T. – health, education and environment, agriculture, revenue generation, tourism, transparency and true public service, for the people of Romblon towards sustainable and inclusive development,” said Bellie Faminialan of Provincial Social Welfare Office.

According to PhilHealth Officer Andrew Faa, health insurance in Romblon has now covered 98 percent of families from the 17 municipalities province wide.

Prior to the database launching, the Department displayed ‘Listahanan Exhibits’ in Romblon State University- Main Campus and in Provincial Capitol for public viewing and for increasing knowledge and awareness about statistics and profile of the poor particularly in Romblon province.

The re-launching aims to showcase the results of the second round household assessment, which was attended by various national and local government agencies and media partners. ###
