Sustainable Livelihood Program (SLP) of Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) MiMaRoPa, awarded skills training packages for Hog Production in the municipality of Sta. Cruz Marinduque last 27 October 2016.

After six months from the submission of Project Proposal last May, two hybrid piglets (male & female) and feeds (starter, grower, & finisher) were finally given to the participants of Slaughter Pig Production Skills Training.

On October 25, 2016, Martin Laraquel, Project Development Officer (PDO II), validated the participants and announced that starter kits will be arriving.

With the help of Julieta Rolluque, parent leader, and Jose Lincoln Aytona, Punong Barangay, 200 sacks of feeds were properly unloaded, kept and distributed in the barangay hall of Dating Bayan.

SLP is a community-based capacity building program which increases the economic opportunities of the families through the different modalities that it offers such as skills training, seed capital fund, pre-employment assistance fund, and the cash for building livelihood assets. It is implemented through the Community-Driven Enterprise Development Approach which equips program participants to actively contribute to production and labor markets by looking at available resources and accessible markets (Mike Laraquel). ###
