BOAC, MARINDUQUE – Department of Social Welfare and Development Field Office MIMAROPA signs Memorandum of Agreement ( MOA) with Marinduque State College (MSC) on November 10, 2020, to create projects for poverty alleviation and empowerment of the disadvantaged and marginalized sector in Marinduque.

The activity took place at MSC’s Office of the President, attended by SWADT Team Leader Helen Alcoba, SLP Provincial Coordinator Adonis T. Analista, and Dr. Vernaliza L.Capina, Officer-In-Charge of MSC.

During the activity, a brief background of the Sustainable Livelihood Program was presented, including its projects, and, current operational status, which emphasized SLP associations as resource-based and market-driven in sustaining their livelihood following policy and guidelines in terms of implementing their enterprise.

Both parties agreed to collaborate to provide SLP beneficiaries with technical assistance and to share available resources, expertise, and information relevant to existing SLP projects. Also, they have agreed to work out a plan of action that will define the exact initiatives to be undertaken along with the expected outcomes, which shall be renewed at regular intervals.

MSC is currently planning and working out the modules for the associations as learning materials for their plan of activities to be conducted and will schedule meetings for the proper execution of the appropriate activity to the target beneficiaries.

In addition, the said MOA signing serves as a significant event for the department’s first partnership with the college institution with a written agreement. Though, previously the DSWD SLP is humbly getting the speakers from the MSC.

The activity was also attended by the Dr.Ma. Edelwina M. Blasé, the MSC Vice President for Research, Extension andDevelopment, MSC Extension Coordinator, Michael Jaye Ribleza, Generoso E.Udanga, the Dean of the School of Business and Management and Kevin Louise R.Marciano, Implementing PDO of DSWD SLP.
