Donned in red vests, staff of Field Office MIMAROPA-DRMD facilitated the delivery of food and non-food items to the fire victims

The Low Pressure Area (LPA) that recently hit Oriental Mindoro and Palawan directly affected an estimated 26,476 families or 130,168 individuals, as of January 16, 2023. To immediately assist the affected populace in the two provinces, the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office MIMAROPA has provided more than ₱3 million worth of food and non-food items (FNIs) as resource augmentation to concerned local government units (LGUs).

Through the Disaster Response Management Division (DRMD), the FO MIMAROPA already distributed 4,074 Family Food Packs; 1,175 Collapsible Water Container; 50 Hygiene Kits; 50 Family Kits; 50 Sleeping Kits; and 50 Kitchen Kits, which amounted to ₱3,378,897.21.

Meanwhile, FO MIMAROPA expressed its gratitude to volunteers from the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) and barangay volunteers who were mobilized to repack the raw materials that were brought to the National Resource and Logistics Management Bureau (NRLMB)) last January 14, 2023. The volunteers did the vacuum sealing of 1,600 rice and produced a total of 1,500 boxes of FFPs.
