The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) honored and recognized its stakeholders for exemplary performance and contribution to the overall accomplishments of the Sustainable Livelihood Program (SLP) implementation last August 30, 2024, at Sequoia Hotel Timog, Quezon City.

Spearheaded by the Sustainable Livelihood Program – National Program Management Office (SLP-NPMO), DSWD MIMAROPA – SLP Regional Program Management Office (RPMO) and its provincial staff received awards and recognition in the Gawad Sulong 2024. 

Topping the list is Gare Gaa, Provincial Coordinator of SLP Romblon bagged the 2nd place in the Best Provincial Coordinator while Angelica Rose Malitao and Fatima Concepcion Pelaez of SLP Marinduque both earned 3rd places in the Best Technical Staff and Best Implementing Project Development Office (IPDO) categories, respectively.

Ardenia Dumaran of SLP Palawan earned 4th place in the Sibol Writing Contest Cycle 1, while Princess Vicente of SLP Palawan and Kennedy Salas of SLP Romblon entered into the TOP 10 for the two cycles of the Sibol Writing Contest.

The delegation was headed by the OIC Asst. Regional Director for Operations and OIC Regional Program Coordinator (RPC) Sheila S. Tapia who also received the awards for Outstanding Performance and Contributions in Calendar Year 2023 and Best Referral Implementation.

Lastly, the RPMO bagged 2nd place in the Best Booth in the recent SLP ALUNSINA: Kabuhayan Convention and Bazaar at the Risen Garden, Quezon City Hall, Mayaman, Diliman, Quezon City.

In her message, Undersectary Pinky Romualdez of the DSWD’s Operations Group, said the Gawad Sulong gives recognition to the efforts, passion, and dedication of the participants, partners, and beneficiaries that make the SLP a successful anti-poverty reduction program of the Department.

Gawad Sulong is the official rewards and recognition system of the Sustainable Livelihood Program, which aims to honor and recognize the outstanding achievements, dedication, and unwavering commitment of the program participants, personnel, and partners involved in the overall implementation of the program.

DSWD MIMAROPA is deeply committed to improving the quality of life of program participants through livelihood intervention especially those marginalized, vulnerable, and disadvantaged sectors in the region.
