Malate, Manila — The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Region IV – MiMaRoPa in preparation for typhoon Ruby continuously monitors all provinces through its Quick Response Team (QRT).

Currently, there are 971 affected families housed in 50 evacuation centers in Romblon (49) and Occidental Mindoro (1) as part of the pre-emptive evacuation.

Of the 31, 496 prepositioned family food packs in various provinces and municipalities in the region, 8,766 have been repacked from the regional office in Malate, Manila. A “no sail” policy for safety and precaution was announced since yesterday. Once the policy’s been lifted, the relief goods will be delivered to areas in need of augmentation.

The QRT is in coordination with the provincial and municipal offices as typhoon Ruby closes its way to the region.  ###
