MOGPOG, MARINDUQUE— DSWD MIMAROPA, through the Monitoring Project Development Officer (MPDO) Leona B. Macuha of the Sustainable Livelihood Program, conducted an orientation on Livelihood Assistance Grants (LAG) and the initial formulation of Livelihood Recovery Project Proposal (LRPP) to 35 Barangay Captains and two Barangay Councilors representing the 37 barangays of Mogpog, and representatives from the Local Government Unit (LGU) on June 9, 2020.

The activity was supported by Municipal Mayor Augusto Leo M. Livelo, Municipal Social Welfare and Development Officer (MSWDO) Lara Catherine J. Tiglao, Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Officer (MDRRMO) and Livelihood Assistance Grants (LAG) Focal Person Rizalie M. Lim, and Municipal Link/MAT Leader Christine M. Jambalos.

The Orientation on LAG and the initial formulation of the LRPP aims to orient the LGU on the implementation processes in the provision of LAG and in the preparation of LRPP.  It includes discussions on the process and tools to be used in securing the LAG by the LGUs.

As the main tool for LAG, the LRPP is a document that provides basic information on proposed livelihood recovery projects of the C/MLGUs.  The LRPP shall serve as a documentary evidence for the C/MLGUs in securing funding for rehabilitating or recovering livelihoods and economic activities in their locality that was affected by the COVID-19 and the subsequent imposition of the Community Quarantine.

LAG is a financial assistance from DSWD granted to eligible families whose livelihood was affected by the implementation of the enhanced community quarantine due to the coronavirus 2019. LAG can be used to support new or existing micro-enterprise activities and/or augment expenses on pre-employment and food and transportation allowance during the first month of employment.
