Sa pakikipagtulungan sa mga Child Caring Agencies (CCA) at mga lokal na pamahalaan sa rehiyon, ang Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) MIMAROPA – Adoption Resource and Referral Unit (ARRU) ay nakapag-prosesong mabigyan ang 15 bata ng Certification Declaring a Child Legally Available for Adoption o CDCLAA ngayong taon.
Ang CDCLAA ay isang ligal na dokumentong pirmado ng kalihim ng DSWD na nagsasaad na ang isang bata ay maaari nang mai-proseso para sa ligal na pag-aampon.
Ayon kay ARRU Focal Person, Princess Vagilidad, hindi naging madali ang pagpapatuloy sa pagproseso ng mga kinakailangang dokumento sa pag-aampon dahil sa nararanasang pandemya sa kasalukuyan, “pero patuloy tayong nagbigay ng kasiguraduhan na ang mga cases ng bata ay ating aaksyunan through on-line transactions kung saan ang Field Office at Central Office ay tumatanggap ng mga scanned documents upang hindi maantala ang kaso ng mga bata,” pagbabahagi niya.
Sa pamamagitan ng video at phone conferences ay patuloy na naisasagawa ng DSWD MIMAROPA ang mandato nitong magbigay gabay sa mga pamilyang nais mag-ampon, gayundin sa mga batang nangangailangan ng pamilyang aaruga sa kanila.
Sa kasalukuyan ay mayroong 42 batang nasa Foster Care Placement na mino-monitor ang ARRU. Gayundin, nakapag linang ng apat na dagdag na Foster Families na maaaring magsilbing pansamantalang pamilya ng mga batang nangangailangan ng kalinga. May kabuuang bilang nang 41 Foster Families sa rehiyon ng MIMAROPA.
“Ang pag develop ng regular adoptive and foster family ay isa sa pinaka challenging na kinakaharap ng ARRU social workers sa ngayon subalit dahil sa dedication and commitment ng mga social workers, tayo ay naka pag develop ng 4 na regular foster parents at 3 regular adoptive parents,” saad ni Vagilidad. Aniya, ito ay bunga ng mga online forum, orientation, advocacy campaign, at masusing pagbibigay ng technical assistance sa mga prospective adoptive parents at foster families.
Ang kampanya ng DSWD upang mawakasan ang iligal na pag-aampon ay patuloy na pinalalawig sa pangunguna ng ARRU at sa pakikipagtulungan sa mga CCA at lokal na pamahalaan. Panawagan ni Vagilidad sa bawat isa, “tayo po ay mayroong ligal at tamang proseso ng pag-aampon at pagpapa-ampon kung saan protektado ang mga batang nais ipa-ampon, mga mag-aampon at ang magulang na nais ipa-ampon ang kanilang anak.”
