DSWD MiMaRoPa strengthens its partnership with the Local Government Unit of Buenavista, Marinduque thru a Memorandum of Agreement on Data Sharing.

Malate, Manila- In a special session held by the Sangguniang Bayan Council of the Municipality of Buenavista, Marinduque, a resolution was passed to enter into a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) on Data Sharing with the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office IV- MiMaRoPa thru Listahanan last March 7, 2014 at the Regional Office.

Attended by seven Sangguniang Bayan  members,  Mayor Russel S. Madrigal, Vice Mayor Bert S. Fabrero  and the Municipal Planning and Development Coordinator, resolution no. 26 series of 2014 was created which aims to utilize DSWD database as basis in the identification of beneficiaries in the local social protection programs.

“This is our first step to strengthen our partnership with the Department in the implementation of the programs to our common beneficiaries,” said Buenavista Mayor Madrigal.

Data Sharing is the last phase of the Listahanan cycle which makes the data of poor households available to social protection stakeholders. However, MOA is required to ensure the integrity and confidentiality of the database. This is also done to monitor and assure  that provided data is used for intended purposes.

Moreover, the said partnership opens a deeper engagement for the upcoming 2nd round nationwide household assessment. “We will support this household assessment and will help to ensure that all households will be enlisted,” Mayor Madrigal added.

Listahanan has assessed 21, 154 households in Buenavista during the 2009 enumeration and 12,589 poor households were identified poor. As an intervention,  1,743 poor families are enrolled to Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program and 109 poor senior citizens are now Social Pensioners. ###
