Malate, Manila – Amidst the economic and human toll brought by El Niño in MiMaRoPa, the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) has never ceased in providing assistance to the affected families in the provinces of Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon, and Palawan.

As of 3:00 PM, 18 April , there are 10, 213 farmers affected by El Niño in thirty one (31) municipalities of MiMaRoPa.

151 farmers or fisherfolks are affected in Oriental Mindoro while 1, 564 farmers or fisherfolkis are affected in Occidental Mindoro. Among seven (7) affected municipalities in Occidental Mindoro, the most affected area is Sablayan with 780 affected farmers or fisherfolks.

Also, based on the submitted report of the Municipal Action Team (MAT), here are additional number of affected farmers/fisherfolks in MiMaRoPa: 100 in Romblon; 809 in Marinduque; and 7, 589 in Palawan.
533 families in Roxas Palawan, the most affected area by El Nino, will be prioritized for relief assistance.

To date, 799 family food packs are currently distributed in Roxas Palawan while 150 food packs are given to San Jose, Occidental Mindoro.

DSWD Quick Response Team, in coordination with other concerned agencies, is continuously monitoring and providing relief assistasnce to the affected families in MiMaRoPa. ###
