Recognizing the significance of monitoring and evaluation (M&E) in achieving goals and objectives of the agency, Department of Social Welfare and Development MIMAROPA conducted a monitoring workshop of the completed Social Technology projects at Filipiniana Hotel, Calapan City.

Workshop was in partnership with the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Bansud Oriental Mindoro.

Monitoring focused on Arugat at Kalinga sa mga Bata sa Barangay Project and Special Drug Education Center (SDEC) project.

Aruga at Kalinga sa mga Bata sa Barangay Project or Foster care in the barangay, involves Local Social Workers to recruit and assess families which will be later on licensed by DSWD as foster parents while the Barangay Council for the Protection of Children (BCPC) monitors and advocates for the project at their level.

While Special Drug Education Center Project increases community involvement and worthwile activities among youth while educating them.

Activity aims to monitor updates on the initial implementation of the action plans done by the LGU implementers in Bansud, Oriental Mindoro of the two projects; capacitate implementers on how to use monitoring and evaluation tool; and prepare a catch up or new strategic plan for the effective and continuous implementation of Social Technology projects in the municipality of Bansud.

“Ang workshop na ito po ay naglalayong mapaunlad pa ang pagimplementa ng mga SocTech Projects sa MIMAROPA. Mahalagang ma-monitor natin ang progress ng mga proyekto para masigurado na makakamit natin ang ating objectives at kung may suliranin man ay maresolba na agad ito, highlights Josephine Macalagay, Social Technology Unit Head.
