QUEZON CITY — DSWD MIMAROPA conducted a consultation and orientation workshop to the Local Government Units (LGUs) of the Provinces of Palawan and Oriental Mindoro on the Enhanced Partnership Against Hunger and Poverty (EPAHP) Program and Community Based-Organizations (CBOs) Mapping last March 20-22, 2023 at Red Hotel, Quezon City.

The Negotiated Procurement – Community Participation (NP-CP) modality is one of the major topics discussed as a procurement modality in the implementation of the government institutional feeding programs.

Atty. Karina Antonete A. Agudo, Director IV of the DSWD Central Office Administrative Service served as expert for this topic, discussing and highlighting the use of NP-CP as one of priority and directives of the DSWD Secretary to all Field Offices and encouraged LGUs on the use of Community Procurement as modality in procuring food requirement in all DSWD Centers and Feeding Program.

Further, mapping of Community Based- Organizations (CBOs) as potential suppliers were determined by the participants including the issues and concerns on their possible engagement in government procurement activities. EPAHP partners committed to assist the CBOs and provide necessary interventions to ensure their readiness in participating in government procurement activities.

Spearheaded by the EPAHP MIMAROPA staff, the participants include the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Officers (MSWDOs), Municipal Cooperative Development Officers (MCDOs), Municipal Agriculture Office (MAO), Bids and Awards Committee (BAC) members, and participating national government agencies (NGAs).
